Chadar and Sandan Valley Trek Practice Session
December 06, 2013Workout Trek (2 Hours)4 hours crash course on Basics of Mountaineering, Rock Climbing and Rappelling.
Date: December 8, 2013.
Free for; Nature Knights team members who have registered for "Chadar Trek" and "Sandan Valley Trek"; and free also for; their spouse, and kids.
Other are welcome to join (with preregistration fee of Rs.500/-).
Limited capacity only..
Tentative plan:
Drive down in your own transport7:30 am Meeting inside SGNP main gate
Drive to Kanheri Caves (own vehicle or car pool).
8:00 am workout trek starting at Kanheri Caves Parking area.
10:00 am Introduction to safety equipment's, Knots, Anchors,
Basic Rock Climbing and Rappelling introduction to techniques and practice session
02:00 pm windup
What to carry?
Wear track pants, t-shirt, cap, sun glasses, canvas shoe or trekking shoe
Carry 2 litres water per head.
Packed snacks.

Few Moments of Truth...
Standing at the edge of the cliff I saw an ant size man looking up,
I did not have to strain my ears to listen
to the wooofering aggression of the coastal winds
and the raising applaud of the waves..
my eyes had developed magnified vision
and could clearly see the surf of the water,
a tingly sensation developed under my feet,
cheeks were a blush of red,
adrenaline juice was ready to explode in my belly,
all my senses were 100% alert,
time froze in suspense as I turned around taking my position to take first few steps on the cliff face..
for true prayers that were to come of my heart it should be now,
for it was the moment of truth now that it was my turn to walk down the great cliff hanger path..
