July 21, 2014 – Mon Day 03 Kargil – Padum
Early Morning leave for 9 Hrs Drive to Padum (Zanskar) where you can Have a Magnificent View of Nun Kun & Dran Drung Glacier. And Enroute Rangdum, Pentse la Pass. Reach Padum by Evening. O/N Padum. Padum(3505 m) is the present day administrative headquarters of the region. With a population of nearly 1500, Padum can be described as the most populous settlement of Zanskar, otherwise a very scarcely inhabited valley.

July 22, 2014 – Tue Day 04 Padum
After Breakfast leave for Full Sightseeing of Karsha, Stongdey & Sani. Back to Padum by evening. O/N Padum. After a leisurely breakfast visit Karsha Gompa. The Karsha Monastery of Ladakh is situated in the Karsha village of the Zanskar region. The full name of Karsha, the largest monastery of Zanskar, is Karsha Chamspaling. Phagspa Shesrab, the translator of Zanskar first founded this monastery. The monastery, as it stands today, was the result of the efforts of the Teacher, Dorje Shesrab. It was under him only that the monastery flourished and prospered. Shesrab Zangpo of Stod was the one to introduce the Gelukpa Order in the Karsha Gompa of Leh Ladakh.

July 23, 2014 – Wed Day 05 Padum – Rangdum via Suruvalley
Drive to Rangdum (12,000ft) and check-in at a camp. The farthest and the most isolated part of the Suru Valley, Rangdum is an elliptical expanded plateau surrounded by colourful hills on the one side and glacier encrusted Rocky Mountains on the other. Situated 130 kms South- east of Kargil, it falls midway between Kargil and Padum. Due to its remoteness from inhabited parts either of Suru or Zanskar, the areas wild beauty is almost haunting, while its isolation is near perfect even as the unpaved Zanskar road traverses its length.

Morning after Breakfast leave for Ule, enroute visit Mulbek a giant Buddha Sculpture on Rock Mountain, Lamayuru, the oldest Monastery of Ladakh and have a magnificent view of spectacular view of Moon landscape.

July 26, 2014 – Sun Day 08 Leh – Local Culture Tour
Morning after breakfast leave for Half day excursion to Thiksey Gompa and; Shey Palace. Back to Hotel by Lunch time and spend time at Leisure by exploring Leh local Town.

July 27, 2014 – Mon Day 09 Leh – Nubra Valley
After Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft) Arrive at Hundur by Afternoon. Rest of the day, Post lunch free to explore Deskit, Hunder Villages and camel Safari in Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village.

After Breakfast visit Deskit Monastery and drive back to Leh by same Route, crossing Khardungla Pass. Reach Leh by afternoon. Evening free time at Leisure to explore Leh market.

After early Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft), through Changla Pass 17,350 ft., it is the third highest motorable road in the world. Arrive Pangong lake it is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake on the Banks of Pangong Lake while appreciating the changing Colors and fascinating high altitude of the Lake.

Aug 1, 2014 – Day 14 Leh – Day 13 Tsomoriri Lake
Early morning after breakfast leave for Tsomoriri Lake via Chumathang (Hot spring) & Tsokar Lake, enroute visit Sulphur mines and arrive Tsomoriri Lake by afternoon. Evening walk around the lake to enjoy the scenic beauty.

Aug 2, 2014 – Sat Day 15 Tsomoriri Lake – Tsokar – Sarchu
Early morning leave for leisure walk on the Lake and enjoy the beauty of Lake and Changing colors. Then drive to Sarchu. Sarchu is the last inhabited point in Himachal Pradesh on the Manali-Leh route from Himachal side - which is regarded as one of the highest highways in the world. Arrive in Sarchu and check into your Camp.

Aug 3, 2014 – Sun Day 16 Sarchu – Manali
Enroute Darcha is situated at the junction of Yotche Nullah and the Zangskar Chhu which takes off from the Shinkun La. Both these nullahs meet with main river Bhaga at this place. The valley broadens out from Darcha. The altitute of Darcha is about 3500 meters which makes it an ideal base camp for acclimatisation. Darcha is the jumping off point for treks to Padum over  the Shinkun la or Baralacha la and Phirtse la and for treks or mountaineering expeditions to Leh and peaks of Chandra Bhaga series. However no tourist bungalow or rest house facilities are available on either side of the nullahs. A police check post is also there. Darcha is the last village where one can see sparse growth of trees. Beyond Darcha not even a single tree can be seen on either side of the highway. Landscape starts looking desolate and absolutely barren. Glance at JISPA. This beautiful spot is 22 kms away from Keylong and 4 kms ahead of Ghemur. The village is situated at the junction of two nullahs with the main river Bhaga. Jispa has a very large dry river-bed, a rarity in Lahaul.Jispa is a new tourism centre coming up with the monasteries of Yarji and Photang where his Holiness the Dalai Lama gave the Kal Chakra sermon a few days back to the Buddhists all over the world. The mountaineering Institute of Manali has a sub centre here for adventure tourism.



We proceed beyond Keylong getting into heart of Lahaul Spiti Valley passing along Chandra and Bhaga Rivers as we reach Khoskar; from here we start ascending towards
Rohtang Pass 3790 Meter is most popular with visitors, being one of the highest road point and gateway to Lahaul and Spiti Valleys. Pass remains closed during winter due to heavy snow from November end to May end. We descend from RohtangLa to reach Marchi below here we start entering, forest of Birch, Fir and Spruce. Overnight stay at Manali.

Day 1 Arrival Chandigarh and transfer to Manali - Arrive at Manali and transfer to Hotel.

Day 2 Manali Rohtan Pass Koksar Keylong Lahaul Spiti - Depart Manali early in the morning our first halt is Marhi A barren landscape offering extensive views of the valley and the mountains. We proceed to Rohtang Pass 3790 Meter is most popular with visitors, being one of the highest road point and gateway to Lahaul and Spiti Valleys. Pass remains closed during winter due to heavy snow from November end to May end. Visitors can drive upto Marchi below Rohtang with similar high altitude topography, forest of Birch, Fir and Spurce. Once we cross the Rohtang Pass Border we are in the barren Himalayas with the landscape completely changing Khoskar is the first village and gateway to Lahaul Overnight stay in Keylong BF/L/D

Day 4 Sarchu Nakeela La Changla Pass More Plains and Reach Leh - Sarchu to Leh, depart in the morning at dawn. Our Journey through Nakeela and Lachlangla Pass  16617 feet, Reach Pang by afternoon lunch break at Pang, enroute. More Plains (Biggest and Highest Plateau on
Earth on Stretch of 42 Kms), Taglang La Pass (2nd Highest Motorable Road in the World at A Height of 17,585ft) & reaching Upshi, from here the road follows the Indus River, passing villages with there terraced Fields and neat- Whitewashed houses. On a way one notice the ruins have an ancient Fort or palace or the distant glimpse of gompa on a hill. And at last reaching Leh .Over night in Leh BF/PKDL /D

Day 5 Excursion to Shey, Thiksey and Hemis. Today we proceed for Indus Valley monastery tour. We start with a visit to Shey the ancient capital of Ladakh. The monastery here has a huge gold-gilded statue of Buddha Sakyamuni with a large silver lamp burning in front of the statue. Then we visit Thiksey Gompa an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. The monastery has a beautiful 30 m high gold-plated statue of Maitreya Buddha, the Buddha of the future. Drive further to visit the famous Hemis Gompa founded in 1630's by Stag-tsang-ras-pa under the royal patronage of Sengge Namgyal.Hemis is one of the largest and richest Gompas of Ladakh. The two-day festival of monastic dance in June-July has raised the reputation of Hemis particularly high. The festival is dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava, popularly known as second Buddha and responsible for spreading Buddhism in the Tibetan world. Later in the evening we drive back to hotel Overnight in Leh BF/PKDL /D

Day 06  Khardungla K Top Nubra Valley- Tour of Khardungla Pass 18832 Ft , Nubra Valley and Hundur Sand Dunes  –  Drive 120 Kms 4/5 Hrs ( Temperatures below Freezing point at Khardungla Pass) ensure to carry heavy winter clothes as most of the time this pass has snow. Khardungla is the World's highest motorable road at 18832 feet above sea level. At Khardungla pass the snow capped peaks and the mountain views are amazing. The road then passes through a bridge laid on Glacier which finds its way in Guinness Book of world records , Drive through the Valley which is extremely beautiful for photography.Nubra Valley is the Oasis of Ladakh as you see some colourful trees in this region. Later reach your camp  visit the Sand Dunes if lucky you will get the sight of the Two Hump Bacterian camels, enjoy time at  the Sand Dunes of Nubra valley spread across Hundur Village . Over Night at the camp BF/PKDL /D



Day 7 Nubra Valley to Leh - After breakfast proceed to Diskit monastery which is 515 years old situated on hill top giving panoramic view of the valley. Later we will visit Singhu Point (Indus River where all the Singhes pay holy bath) and Stok Museum. The Stok Palace and Museum is around 200 years old. The Palace and Museum at Stok is a showpiece for the royal tankhas, royal crown, dresses, coins, precious stones and turquoise head dresses. Return back to the hotel for dinner overnight stay at the hotel in Leh. BF/PKDL/D.

Day 8 Pangong Lake and Chanla Pass - An  early start to the day for our visit to Pangong Lake at a distance of 155 kilometers. This beautiful turquoise coloured is worth its drive and time. Half of this beautiful lake is under Chinese occupation. This visit to the lake involves crossing of Changhla pass. Packed lunch. Drive back to leh evening free time in Leh market and back to the hotel for dinner. Overnight in Leh Hotel BF/PKDL/D.

Day 9 Alchi Uleytokpo Basgo Palace, Likir Monastery, Magnetic Hill - Leh Alchi Ule (4 hrs). After breakfast drive to Indus River. Rafting for 4 to 5 hours optional cost and sightseeing points Basgo Palace, Liker Monastery, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Visit Alchi Monastery and evening free at the camp. Overnight in Uleytokpo BF/PKDL/D.

Day 10 Moonland Lamayuru Maitrey Buddha Kargil - Ule Alchi - Kargil 06 Hrs. Sightseeing tour of Moonlandscape, visit Lamayuru). The Oldest Monastery of Ladakh Giant Statute of Maitreya Buddha in Mulbekh Check into your hotel in Kargil Overnight Kargil BF/PKDL/D.


Day 11 Kargil - Drass Sonamarg - Srinagar (7 to 8 hrs) by 5am proceed to Srinagar via Drass. The second coldest inhabited place in the world. Experience the splendid view of Kargil famous peaks Tiger Hill and Tololing Peaks. At Vijay Smarak we shall pay homage to the martyrs of the Indian Army. Arrive at Srinagar by afternoon. Rest day for free to do your own activities. Overnight in Srinagar House Boat BF/PKDL/D.

Day 01 Arrive Srinagar Airport. - On Arrival you will be transferred to the House boat , evening 30 mins Shikara ride on the lake. Over night at the House Boat in Srinagar /D
 

Day 02 Srinagar Sonamarg Kargil 7/8 Hrs drive 250 Kms..- Sonamarg - the Meadow of Gold Depart from Srinagar as per road opening timings. The drive to Sonamarg is another spectacular facet of country side in Kashmir in Sindh Valley. The Sindhu Valley is the largest tributary of the valley of Kashmir. drive to Kargil  the road passes through the panoramic village reach Sonamarg (2740 Mtrs). After Sonmarg most rough road and wet Zojila pass 3527 Mtrs (Gateway of Ladakh). Continue drive towards Drass (The second coldest inhibited place in the world) k. Another two and half hours drive will take us to Kargil (2710 Mtrs) which has got its importance after opening the Ladakh for tourists in 1974 Over Night at the Hotel in Kargil. BF/PKDL/D

Day 03 Kargil to Uleytopko 5/6 Hrs drive - depart from Kargil after early Breakfast,  en-route visiting the monastery of Mulbekh & Lamayuru & Moonlandscape passing through Namkila & Fatula Passes, The highest pass on the Srinagar- Leh road  and proceed to Ulleytopko Over Night at the Uleytopko   BF/PKDL/D 

Day 04 Drive Sham Valley & Alchi -After breakfast, carry packed lunch for the day. Sightseeing of 1000 year old Alchi monastery the only Gompa in Ladakh region on flat ground., Thereafter proceed to the Likir Monastrey to visit the splendid three storey Dharma Wheel Gompa. Here you'll be awestruck with the sight of the massive Buddha statues., Indus & Zanskar river Sangam , drive along the Indus river visiting, Pathar Sahib Gurdwara and Magnetic Hill (where the cars defy gravity), Basgo Palace Hiking only and further on to Leh Hall of Fame (which has a museum of the Kargil War memorabilia)Dinner and
Over Night at the Hotel in Leh. BF/PKDL/D


Day 05 Leh Local Tour of Hemis, Thiksey and Shey monastery and Shanti Stupa - After a leisurely breakfast, we drive to visit Hemis Monastery situated 45 kilometers west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back taking the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill-lock with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya and is also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that we continue to drive through series of chortens to visit Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. Later in the afternoon, we will then drive to visit the Shanti stupa to catch the entire view of Leh city with the Indus River, we will spend some time to catch the sunset and further on to Leh Dinner and Over Night at the Hotel in Leh. Day 06 Pangong Tour of Pangong Lake-It is the highest land locked lake ( 155 Kms One way from Leh 05 Hrs drive  each way . After an early breakfast we Leave for Pangong Lake through Changla pass 5486 Mtrs. Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometer at its widest point and over 130km long, it is bisected by the international border between India and China. A few years back the government decided to open it to tourists though the lake and its surrounding is under army surveillance. Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the Lake. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable.  Drive back to Leh Over Night at the Hotel in Leh. BF/PKDL/D

Day 08 After Breakfast proceed to  Diskit monastery which is 515 years old situated on a hill top giving panoramic view of the valley later walk around the town of Diskit view the  Giant Buddha Statue in Diskit there is a small village market.    Proceed for the tour of Samstaling,Panamik,Yaraptso Lake along with the splendid view of the Karakoram Himalayan Range…Samsthaling is situated on the mountainside just above sumur. This was the route taken by the trade caravans, and Panamik, the last village on this circuit, was at that time a busy centre, the last major settlement before the caravans Proceed back to Leh cross Khardungla Pass once again and reach Leh . over Night at the Hotel in Leh. On arrival at Manali, transfer to hotel, Half day free, post lunch Manali city excurtion.


June 11, 2012 (Monday) – Day 2

5:30 am Depart Manali Early morning, few minutes after start immediately after we are outside outskirts of Manali our vehicle start passing through high altitude topography passing through forest have a rich growth of Birch, Fir and Spurce. The landscape begins to change as we near our first halt, Marhi a barren landscape offering extensive views of the valley and the mountains. We proceed to Rohtang Pass 3790 M (over 13000 feet) is most popular with visitors, being one of the highest road points and gateway to Lahaul and Spiti Valleys. Pass remains closed during winter due to heavy snow from November to May end.
After crossing Rohtang Pass border we are in the Barren Himalayas above to tree line with the landscape completely changing Khoksar is the first village and gateway to Lahaul.

June 12, 2012 (Tuesday) – Day 3 (Keylong Darcha Jispa Sarchu – Keylong to Sarchu – Enroute..

Darcha is situated at the junction of Yotche Nullah and the Zangskar Chhu which takes off from the Shinkun La. Both these nullahs meet with the main river Bhaga at this place. The valley broadens out from Darcha. The altitude of Darcha is about 3500 meters, which makes it an ideal base camp for acclimatization. Darcha is the jumping off point from treks to Padum over the Shinkun La or Baralacha La and Phirtse la and for treks or mountaineering expeditions to Leh and peaks of Chandra Bhaga series. However no tourish bungalow or rest house facilities are available on either side of the nullah. A police check post is also there. Darcha is the last village where one can see sparse growth of trees. Beyond Darcha hardly any trees can be seen on either side of the highway. Landscape start looking desolate and absolutely barren. Glance at JISPA. The beautiful spot is 22 km away from Keylong and 4 kms ahead of Ghemur. The Village is situated at the junction of two nullahs with the main river Bhaga. Jispa has a very large dry river-bed, a rarity in Lahual. Jispa is a new tourism  centre coming up with the monasteries of Yarji and Photang where his Holiness the Dalai Lama gave the Kal Chakra Sermon a few days back to the Buddhist all over the world. The mountaineering institute of Manali has a sub centre here for adventure tourism. Sarchu is the last inhabited point in Himachal Pradesh. On arrival at Sarchu check into your campsite tents..

June 13, 2012 (Wednesday) – Day 4 Sarchu Nakeela LachangLa More Plains – Leh

Depart in the morning at dawn. Our journey throught Nakeela and Lachlangla pass 16,617 feet, reach Pang by afternoon lunch breaks at Pang, enroute More Plains (Biggest and Highest Plateau on Earth on Stretch of 42 kms), Taglang La Pass (2nd Highest Motorable Road in the World at height of 17,585 feet) and reaching Upshi, from there the road follows the Indus River, passing villages with their terraced fields and neat-White Washed Houses. On the way one notices the ruins have an ancient Fort or Palace or the distant glimpse of gompa on a hill. And at last we reach Leh.

June 14, 2012 (Thursday) – Day 5: Tour of Hemis, Thiksey Shey Monastery 3 Idots School Campus Sindhu Darshan

After a leisurely breakfast, we drive to visit Hemis Monastery situated 45km west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back taking the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hillock with formidable views of Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya and is also know for its (Drukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that we continue to drive through series of chortens to visit Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. 3 Idots School Campus Sindhu Darshan visit.

June 15, 2012 (Sunday) – Day 6: "Trek Day 1"


Duration of Trek: 03 Days. 
Best Time: May to October.   
Highest Point:Stok La Pass (4,900m) 
Focus:  Nature, Wildlife, People and Villages. 
Highlight: Village Home Stay and Wildlife viewing.
Physical Challenge: Moderate.


Day 01 of Trek Leh to Phey to Rumbak 5 hrs
After having the breakfast drive to the Phey bridge over the River Indus. Crossing the bridge and then long walk towards the Zingchen Gorge. After two hours of winding along the Indus River the path turns southwards into a gorge. We arrive in Zingchen after another 30 minutes. There is a restaurant where one can stop for tea and snacks. As we continue trekking further, the gorge gets narrower and rugged. On the way one might see snow leopard signs along the valley bottom of the side valleys if you are trekking during winter or early spring/fall. As you approach Rumbak fields the valley suddenly opens up with snowcapped mountains in the background. From the fields the path turns left eastwards for the Rumbak village, where Home stay is available.

June 16, 2012 (Saturday) - Day 7 "Trek Day 2"



Day 02 Wildlife viewing
After the breakfast proceed for full day wildlife viewing along with a trained local guide. Wildlife viewing possibilities are Blue sheep, the Great Tibetan sheep or the Argali, various mountain and migratory birds, high altitude flora and occasionally a Tibetan Wolf or a Snow leopard if luck favors. Ask your Home-stay operator for a local guide or village resource map to show directions for possible options. Overnight in Home Stay.

June 17, 2012 (Sunday) - Day 8 "Trek Day 3"




Day 03 Rumbak to Stok to Leh 8 hours
Make an early start for your trek up the Stok la pass(4900mts) for 3 hours. Follow the path on the extreme left along the south facing hillside. After one hour the path gets slower as you start climbing up to the pass. From the pass you can get great views of the Indus valley. Descend all the way down to the village of Stok. Optional visit to Stok Palace museum. Drive to Leh.

June 18, 2012 (Monday) – Day 9: Tour of KhardungLa Pass 18832 feet. Nubra Valley and Hundur Sand Dunes.

Driver 120 Kms 4 to 5 hours Khardungla is the World’s highest motorable road at 188832 feet above sea level. At KhardungLa pass the snow capped peaks and the mountain view are amazing. The road then pases throught a bridge laid on Glacier which finds its way in Guinness Book of World Records, Drive through the Valley which is exteremely beautiful for photography. Nubra Valley is the Oasis of Ladakh as you see some colourful trees in this region. Later reach your camp visit the Sand Dunes if Lucky you will get the sight of Two Hump Bacterian Camels, enjoy time at the Sand Dunes of Nubra Valley spread across Hundur Village.

June 19, 2012 (Tuesday) – Day 10: After Breafast proceed to Diskit Monastery with is 515 year old.

Sightseeing tour of Moonlandscape, visit Lamayuru, the oldest Monastery of Ladakh Giant Statue of Maitreya Buddha in Mulbekh. Evening stroll in Kargil Market street, checkout bakeries in Kargil/ Apricots.

June 21, 2012 (Thursday) – Day 12: Kargil – Drass – Sonmarg – Srinagar (7 to 8 hours)

5:00 am proceed to Srinagar via Drass. The second coldest inhabited Place in the world. Experience the splendid view of Kargil famous Peaks Tiger Hill and Tololing Peak. At Vijay Smarak we shall pay homage to the martyrs of the Indian army. Arrive Srinagar by afternoon. Rest day for free to do your own activities. Evening Shikara Ride at Dal Lake.
